My Favorite Time of Year. Every. Single. Time.
There is just something about New Year’s that lights me up from the inside out.
New goals. New plans. New beginnings. New intentions. New socks (yes, a fresh pair on New Year’s Day is absolutely a must — I stand by this). And of course… a brand-new planner.

If there were ever a perfect moment to completely reset your life, your routines, your energy, and your mindset… it’s New Year’s.
A Year of Actually Getting It Done
I love making a New Year goal list — truly one of my favorite rituals.
But I’m not going to pretend… the last three (maybe four? who’s counting…) years felt like I was writing the same exact list over and over.
Big dreams, beautiful intentions… very few checkmarks.
But this year? Oh, this year was DIFFERENT.
This was my year of doing the things.
Of showing up.
Of following through.
And I am unbelievably proud of what I accomplished.
Going into next year, I’m only carrying over two personal goals — and honestly? That is more than okay. We’re here for progress, not perfection. Always.
A New Planner = A New Beginning
I am a pen-and-paper girl to my core. A new planner is basically my version of fireworks and confetti.
There are probably a million great planners out there… but I have to share the one that’s changed the game for me.
This will be my third year using the Home Planner from Passionate Penny Pincher — and if you are a list lover like me… prepare your heart.
You can check out these awesome planners for yourself.
This planner has lists for everything.
Like… everything.
And there’s plenty of room to personalize it and make it your own. I won’t pretend I’m perfectly consistent (recovering perfectionist here!), but it’s been such a grounding tool. Some months I barely touch the weekly pages, but I always use the monthly layout to keep my life in check.
It’s also faith-based, which adds the most inspiring touch — beautiful verses throughout, gorgeous design, and cute matching accessories that I absolutely do not need… but will continue to buy anyway.
Recovering Perfectionist Hack: Stickers
Whew. If you know, you know.
There were years I was literally afraid to write my own name inside a fresh planner because… what if I messed it up?!
Now, in my recovery era (thank you, growth), I’ve embraced the magic of…
stickers.
Oh, precious stickers.
Cute? Absolutely.
Functional? You have no idea.
Life-saving for mistakes? 100%.
Mess something up? Sticker.
Plans changed and you already wrote in ink? Sticker.
Need a little motivational sparkle on a Monday? Sticker.
Stickers make planning fun. And messy. And imperfect. And personal.
And honestly? That’s my favorite part.
New Year Energy
As you can probably tell, I get very, very excited for the New Year.
It feels like hope and possibility and fresh pages — literally and figuratively — all rolled into one.
I’d love to know:
How do you honor the New Year?
Do you set goals or reflect on your wins?
Are you buying new socks with me? (You should.)
Tell me your traditions — I’m cheering you on as you step into a beautiful, intentional, good-vibes-filled year ahead.
With grit, grace, and all the good vibes,
♥️Mary Anne

I am a pen and paper girlie too!! It’s rare to find many these days but maybe more people will get back into it! I love a calendar and a list (and maybe even love rewriting that list once or twice). There is something about writing with new pens especially! New socks? A Christmas tradition in my house but the best feeling ever! Cheers to you this holiday season! 💜
